1.2 Digital Citizen:

Students recognize the rights, responsibilities and opportunities of living, learning and working in an interconnected digital world, and then act and model digital citizenship in ways that are safe, legal and ethical.

Examples in the classroom include:

Foundational digital citizenship starts in Kindergarten, where they are learning how to use online tools responsibly through modeling and practice. This continues on as they learn to use technology respectfully and responsibly. This includes a physical device, but also the information that is entered into it. Through collaboration within the building (from myself and the librarian), as well as throughout the district as we connect with other innovations classrooms, they will have the opportunity to see it modeled and practice it first-hand. This will also be seen through our use of AI. Early exposure to AI is important so they are able to learn how to use it as an appropriate tool, and how to spot AI generated images and documents.
